The Project Situation
A small package can still create a large execution risk when every item is a dependency. For a Main Inlet Valve (MIV) package for a hydro power plant in Vietnam, the customer needed instrumentation and accessories to reach site urgently so the project schedule was not affected. The requirement covered 15 line items across 11 component categories, with sourcing spread across multiple suppliers.
The Fragmentation
6 suppliers were involved for 11 items, creating separate follow-ups, coordination points, inspections and logistics activities.
The Risk
A missing or late component could hold up the complete requirement and ultimately affect project schedule and site readiness.
What Changed With MKc
MKc treated the requirement as an integrated package rather than a list of independent purchases. The objective was not simply to buy the items, but to make sure the complete BOM was consolidated, internally checked, cleared for customer offer, export-packed and dispatched as one coordinated requirement.
The Execution Model
The key was managing completeness—not just procurement.
| Execution Focus | MKc Ownership | Customer Effect |
| Sourcing | Supplier identification, RFQs and material procurement | One coordinated sourcing interface |
| Quality | Quality planning, inspection coordination and internal clearance | Reduced risk of incomplete or unverified supply |
| Consolidation | Package consolidation against the BOM | Customer receives a complete requirement |
| Logistics | Export packing and delivery coordination | One shipment instead of managing fragmented deliveries |
THE DIFFERENCE | Instead of the customer coordinating six separate suppliers to assemble one requirement, MKc became the coordination point responsible for bringing the complete package together and making it ready for delivery.
The Critical Control Point
INTERNAL QUALITY CLEARANCE BEFORE CONSOLIDATION
The project required more than collecting supplier material. MKc used internal inspection and quality clearance as a control gate before final consolidation, export packing and dispatch. This shifted the focus from “have all suppliers delivered?” to “is the complete package acceptable and ready to move?”
Measured Execution
A Relationship Built On Reliability
The outcome extended beyond this shipment. The customer subsequently made MKc the preferred supplier for this sub-assembly / BOM across its projects—an indication that reliability and execution discipline became part of the sourcing decision.
Beyond Line-Item Procurement
When a project cannot afford a missing component, MKc takes responsibility for the complete requirement—not just individual purchase orders.
One Package. One Responsibility. Reduced Procurement Burden.
